The Matanuska Experiment Farm is the site of the annual Agriculture Appreciation Day. Upwards of a thousand people enjoy farm tours, music, games, and a free barbecue. The event showcases agriculture in Alaska and is sponsored by the Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station and the Cooperative Extension Service, in conjunction with a number of local agriculture-related organizations. Funding is from private and corporate donations.
